... in Norway are Lutheran. It is an amazing structure built entirely of wood, even joined together by wooden pegs. It has remained as well preserved as it is due to the very dry and cold climate. It is also an area which receives very little snow as it is in a valley protected by mountains on all sides. It was well worth a visit as I have never seen a church of this kind before. ... aching and I finally opted for a stop just before Voss at the historic Stalheim Hotel where the view is so beautiful the bus often stops for pictures. Figuring that at this point we would be ready for some R&R and TLC, I booked us for two nights at this quaint mountain retreat.
