... pointed it out. Even then I though we had traveled all of 3 feet, but no! It went pretty far out. I wonder why they don't just build a bridge? There were enough cars. Anyway, then we got dropped off at the Sogndal bus station and waited about 30-40 minutes until the 10pm bus picked us up. Solvorn is prettier and smaller than Sogndal. There are no neon signs and stuff here. It was still light outside, so that ...

It turned out that we docked in Flaam and it was literally a 5 minute walk to the railway station. So we had plenty of ...

... which is great value for money by Norwegian standards. We took their canoe out on a 3hr trip on the fjord for free, versus paying the tour operator in flam $150usd each. The water in the Fjord was calm and there wasn't much of a current, so canoeing was easy. We finished kayaking at 9pm and found ourselves without any food options, other than our leftover bread. The convenience stores had closed at 4pm because of a holiday (there are a ...

... rain started and then it became more steady so Rick and I retreated while the balance of the group marshaled on. I think we missed out on a cultural encounter but we were brought up to speed over cocktail hour. Flam is more a tourist destination than anything else but there is a community here that thrives on many agricultural pursuits. The main attraction is the Flam train ride that many say ...
