Not a whole lot of anything new to report here. Today was the first day of the 5th season in Germany, carnival season. At 11:11 am there was a parade and some kind of speech by the mayor or someone important. I didn't go because I was far too occupied sleeping. ... was also amazing. The five towns are connected by wonderful walking paths, and traversing them is the highlight of any Cinque Terre trip. You walk along cliffs falling down into the most turquoise ocean I've ever seen, surrounded by prickly pear, olive groves, and grape vines. Today I logged on to CNN and saw these stories: Young girl raped by possibly 10 people while onlookers did nothing to stop it, 12 dead, 31 injured on base in Texas, Mother accused of murdering one child and attempted murder for the other one for the second time!, 11th body pulled out of suspected serial killers home, baby found alive in box. ... then went out with them afterwards for some gelato. I was leading them to the place that I heard was the best gelato in the city when we crossed the street and were looking up at the Duomo. They were shocked and thought it was so amazing and I realized that they had not seen it during their only day of sight-seeing in Florence! They had gone the wrong way out of the hostel and had seen nothing all day and thought that Florence sucked! I couldn't let them ...

So...sorry I'm really really bad about updating this. It will probably only get less frequent as time goes on because I really have nothing new and exciting to report. I've basically fallen into routine here and most of the stuff that seemed interesting at first has become normal to me. I will say that this week has been pretty fun. After a great first night in KOLN. We licked our wounds and headed to the train to stay in Dusseldorf fo two days. A great city right on the RHEIN. The richest city in Germany with many youg working people with lots of shopping. They compare a part of their shopping district to that of Rodeo Drive.
