Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany marggrafNot a whole lot of anything new to report here. Today was the first day of the 5th season in Germany, carnival season. At 11:11 am there was a parade and some kind of speech by the mayor or someone important. I didn't go because I was far too occupied sleeping. I did, however, go a bit later to catch a few people wandering around in costumes and see a band playing in the city square. The one in Dusseldorf is supposedly not near as awesome as the ...

Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany cariverga... was also amazing. The five towns are connected by wonderful walking paths, and traversing them is the highlight of any Cinque Terre trip. You walk along cliffs falling down into the most turquoise ocean I've ever seen, surrounded by prickly pear, olive groves, and grape vines. At each town we felt obliged to sample their version of pizza, gelato, or cappuccinos. When the sun went down, we crawled onto the big rocks in the harbor to watch the sky ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany jluetkehans... Today I logged on to CNN and saw these stories: Young girl raped by possibly 10 people while onlookers did nothing to stop it, 12 dead, 31 injured on base in Texas, Mother accused of murdering one child and attempted murder for the other one for the second time!, 11th body pulled out of suspected serial killers home, baby found alive in box. I haven't heard nearly that many horror stories here.

7.) How's the beer? Finally, a GOOD question, but ...

I'll let Whitney tell you about Maastricht and get to the important stuff -dinner! Trees cooked us Bami for dinner, which is a delicious noodle meal that went prettyquickly.
The following day is was time to say goodbye, so we bid farewell to the kidlets before school and got dropped off at the station with our bellies ...
Boukoul, Limburg, Netherlands steveandwhitney... then went out with them afterwards for some gelato. I was leading them to the place that I heard was the best gelato in the city when we crossed the street and were looking up at the Duomo. They were shocked and thought it was so amazing and I realized that they had not seen it during their only day of sight-seeing in Florence! They had gone the wrong way out of the hostel and had seen nothing all day and thought that Florence sucked! I couldn't let them ...
Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany steveandwhitneySo...sorry I'm really really bad about updating this. It will probably only get less frequent as time goes on because I really have nothing new and exciting to report. I've basically fallen into routine here and most of the stuff that seemed interesting at first has become normal to me. I will say that this week has been pretty fun. Tanya took me shopping and bought me a new bag and a dress which was pretty freakin' awesome of ...

Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany carivergaAfter a great first night in KOLN. We licked our wounds and headed to the train to stay in Dusseldorf fo two days. A great city right on the RHEIN. The richest city in Germany with many youg working people with lots of shopping. They compare a part of their shopping district to that of Rodeo Drive. The weather was hot and muggy, around 86-88 degress, tons of humidity and sunny. We trained to the game in Gelsenkirtchn to watch the US loose to CZE ...
