Today I spent the day in Frankfurt. It was Carnival so there was lots going on downtown and there was a parade. I walked around, watched the parade and had a nice German lunch. Nancy, you will be happy to know I was wearing a full face of makeup and bright red lipstick and I got asked on a date but I politely declined. Now I am on the train headed to Berlin. So far it's quite nice. We are passing through all kinds of cute little towns and farming villages. ...

... I have ever travelled with this and that is saying something. Since the Us has a lot of really ****** airlines. After 16 hours I finally arrived in Frankfurt. I am happy to be here and enjoying a nice dinner. Tomorrow I'm going to hang out in Frankfurt then I am taking the train to Berlin tomorrow ...

Originally I'd planned to try it in France to get from Limoges to Lyon. Although I couldn't find any spots on the map that looked appropriate to hitch-hike from, it's also true that I chickened out. Since then I've largely forgotten about it, being so busy jumping from place to place that I never considered it.

... DB seems to have at least four Little Blue Men working the diner and first class carriages, as well as two ticket inspectors, but is certainly outdone by the French TGV on this occassion. (Their array of foods ranged from a three course dinner down!) ... forward process and i don't have plans so just take it in your stride and see what happens... finally get to the front of the queue and I get told that i need to register my residence in Germany... my response to that is WHAT THE ****? nowhere in all my reading and research did it mention i needed to do this and Nina raised a good point if i got my visa in Wellington would i still need to do that? anyway... i go back to base and Skype Nina and i am visibly upset ...
