Getting up at 3:00 am is not nice, but the highway to the airport was empty. Checking in with Air Berlin was a new experience, but not quite positively. All information that we had keyed in for the online check in was irrelevant, we had to give them the complete information again. Arriving in Düsseldorf was no problem, up in the air and back down again. We had a 2.5 hour layover so we were able to fill our stomachs with a decent breakfast. Air Berlin had another check ...

I did a wander about Hamburg this evening and I have to say it's a beautiful place. Unlike Berlin it doesn't seem to have been completely flattened and rebuilt, so it still has that industrial-age aesthetic about the place.
The one thing I'm struggling with in Germany is remembering to stay ...
