... of this particular hotel room had not turned off the alarm clock after their 4:15 AM wake up call. What was cool was that the alarm was set to a Christian radio station. It was a sweet little blessing as I was already awake but had it been a day when I would have wanted to sleep in till my normal 5AM wake up or later It may not have seemed like a blessing.

... sidewalks. Ate at the Old Schoolhouse Brewery on a little river, and then had an uneventful drive on, except for a double detour, which turned out to be interesting. There was a fire and then flood around Twisp, with roadwork on one highway, and road washed out on the detour road. ... to see the Asian man being wheeled off by a happy granddaughter and great-grandson (maybe), who would see he got something good to eat. I was too slow and self-conscious to catch up with the "skull mom", but I had wanted to tell her what a great job she was doing as a mom and just as a person. I hope the Chinese grandpa likes America, because it can be a pretty good place.

Got up, packed up my wet tent (rain, thunder, lightning all night, sunny and 55 degrees this morning) and resumed my northward ride through Idaho. Highway 55 through McCall, ID is lovely, both for the river and valley, as well as the curvy, 2 lane, 65 mph highway which attracts motorcycle riders from around the area.
