... hotel ATM. We then tried Craig's card and my debit card but none of them would work. But it was working fine for merchant transactions when I paid the hotel charges. So we went out in search of another ATM. Found one at a hotel just along the road but still the same problem. Craig had his National card with him so we tried that - phew it was fine. So have just secure emailed the ANZ bank to see if they can throw any light on why. ...

... there, we settled onto some nice lounge chairs on the beach and ordered rum drinks! The house specialty was a drink made with rum, fruit juices and cinnamon. None of us can remember the name of the drink..and, NO, it is not because we drank too many of those drinks! The Ladies let me taste the drink (see photo) and it was yummy. ... us know that it was going to be another 4 hours before they cleared the road. He said we could stay in the parking lot for the night but it was loud with all the trucks being turned around and the flashing police lights were starting to get annoying so we decided to drive back and see if we could find another spot. But, there is so much poverty and homelessness, especially in the big cities. It is sad to see so many people with walking frames and sticks, especially youngish people, with diseases or injuries which would be rectified with a decent medical system. The disabled are well catered for, and military veterans are respected more than we are used to.
