... from Africa and Asia. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, so I was unable to get any pictures. We got to feed giraffes and pet a rhino and many other amazing experiences. The lunch was elegant and delicious and served in a room with an amazing view of a watering hole where many animals came to drink. It was a fun and exciting experience ...

Needless to say, he made a huge mess, and when we were finally driving back to the lodge, where we were greated by a fabulous buffet, which of course we ate. It was approximately 100 degrees outside, so rather than stick around after lunch, we decided to go home to the pool to cool off. Overall, we had a fun day!

Even thought it coincided with the Austin City Limit's music festival and an whole bunch of college football games, I think everyone who came had a good time...hopefully I'll see a few of you during my travels.
Dallas, Texas, United States bwulz... it the following day, so I can't comment on the speed of hydration. It comes with crackers that are pretty thick. I decided to try it with other crackers we had, but they were too thin - the thick ones can handle the watery-ness of the chicken salad and not get soggy. Things we LOVE Having the freedom to do this trip - not being forced by "the man" to be in Memphis on Monday... (if you know the joke ;-) Things we HATE Ugly cities (Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma City)
Houston, TX to OKC, OK, United States dearmasa... to the Peru border. November 5th - November 6th: In transit through Peru. I've already been to Peru, seen Lima, partied in Cuzco and visited Machu Picchu. I'm 90% sure I'll travel overland to the northern part of Peru, then catch a couple flights to Arequipa on the southern end. Basically spending no time here...maybe a night or two depending on flight availability. November 7th - November 25th ...
Dallas, Texas, United States bwulz... more duty as a clothes rack. I can't tell you how good it feels to simplify your material possessions down to a 10 foot by 10 foot storage unit. At least that's the goal I'm shooting for. I'm also going to try and apply the same "simplification" principle to how I pack for my time in South America...but those of you that know me well...know how difficult that will be. But we'll save that discussion for a separate entry.

Sadly, the U.S. corporate world frowns on such activities and sees such gaps in your resume/CV as signs of someone who is without direction or isn't serious about their career. As a result, you rarely see U.S. travelers taking "gap years" or extended leaves from ...
Dallas, Texas, United States bwulz... I left and made a speed record to Dallas. August 2 Some things I have to mention: I'm so outta touch just heard about Mel Gibson- I was a little confused, I thought there was a war on, but it appears to be the big story. People whove been in the Arch pod, remember the Arch pod- lots of comments on that! And no, no pics of the hair are going online for a while, so give it up! Today I took the car in for ...
Dallas, Texas, United States tomsmidlifeOur flight from Dallas to Tokyo was 13 hours...13 very, very long hours! We were in the very last row (45 in coach), right next to the bathroom of course. I was squeezed between CJ and 2 Japanese fellows who ate their way through several bags of beef jerky. There was a group of about 40 teens on board with some ...
