      We drove for a bit along the cost, but soon headed inland and up. As we drove along the twisting road, Claudia explained about the plants that can be found at the various elevations. Corsica is known for the macchia (thick shrubby) vegetation found on its hillsides. At higher elevations, the endemic laricio pine is found. There is also much wildlife – sheep, wild pigs (we saw some of them), ...

      Tonight is the last night in Corsica. What a wonderful reunion (and introduction) it has been with the Angonno's. We were musing that none of us had much knowledge of Corsica and selected it as a destination somewhat on a whim. How fortunate our whims are so wise.       Today we hit the Corsican coast. It was absolutely beautiful. However the wind was just nippy enough to prevent us from frolicking in the water. But that didn't stop Nico from playing in the sand and Aunt Josie from taking a wine-induced nap on the beach. Then we drove along the scenic route to L'Ile Rousse and continuously had to lift our jaws from off the ground. The views were spectacular.

      We had no real destination in mind for L'Ile, only that it was supposed to ...

      My dear, dear friends Gaby and Rudi are lucky enough to have called Paris home for the last year. I have been anxious to visit them and meet their bambino, Nico. So I was super excited when my work trip included Paris on the itinerary. Hurray!
