    ... to order it again.

One final food experience was a lady selling pancakes by the side of the street. She set up her little brazier and frying pan, and from morning to evening sold pancakes and fresh cows' milk. The pancakes were like drop scones, hot and fresh and filling. They were cooked over pinecones and when they cooled down they had a smoky woody taste. They were very nice with a cup of coffee.

A good few days that gave me a chance to rejuvenate, before some more long ...

... nearby kind of looked like a tiger, but in our minds the small stone tiger statue placed nearby was a much better representation. We stopped for a quick (and just so-so) lunch at a little restaurant at the entrance of the gorge before heading to our final stop for the day, a very historic village along the bank of the Yangtze River.

During the two hour drive from the gorge to the village Martin regaled us with the three events in Chinese history that made ...

... there (remember to bring a lot! of water!).
After a 6.5 our walk along slopes of the gorge with some amazing views and small villages along the way (and an encounter with some cows blocking the path) we finally arrived at the Halfway Guesthouse. We were sweaty and reallly hungry!
And we were lucky getting 3 of the last beds in the 10 ppl dorm for only 40Y! John and I had some really tasty fried rice and a beer on ...
