Woke a bit later today with the juddering of the ship. We had arrived in Cannes and they were lowering the boats for tendering so was causing a wee bit of movement. We had left it a bit late to book our tender off the ship and so this dictated a leisurely morning for us! Hey ho!. Grabbed breakfast of freshly made omelettes and then sat up on top deck with a coffee and lapped up the sunshine. It was looking ...

Fortunately we were able to park easily at the Aire for Motorhomes and it was right near the old city. What an impressive sight! The Chateau and city walls have been restored to a high standard and that with a group of 'Sealed Knot' types role playing gave a real feel of what life must have been like in the ...

... find out that much of the palace is now empty.) Unfortunately we were a bit lost and very frustrated by now. We have come to realise that most city centres in Europe have tiny streets that are not made for large cars or for foreigners who don’t know where they are going. It was time for a little prayer for help.

Well, indeed help did come. We found a 5-star hotel in the ‘new’ part of Avignon ...
