      Dear Emre and Kerem,

      I made a habit of stopping by old, very old, religious sites and this is one of them. A monk from Anatolia came to Northern Cyprus and built this monastery in the 12. century and dedicated it to Mary, Jesus' mom. It's fairly well-preserved with orchards around it. It really secluded up in the mountains. The monks, after completing their training here, would go all of the region to teach the word. ...

      ... prettier place than Larnaca, with harbour, mountains in background and grander castle. We had a meal on the harbour side, which was a little over priced, but fine and worth it for one occasion.

      Next day we took taxi to Heralion castle for 60TL return. The castle is interesting due to its setting high up in the mountains and offered great views.

      ... dry heat in good company, relaxing by the pool and on the rooftop terrace, and even getting a little exercise walking up the steep hill to Bellapais village for some nice views and nice food. We had tried to go to the beach to have our lunch, but when we got to Diana beach it was so windy and cold, and lacking life, that we decided to retreat back into the warmth of the mountain air.

      ... the "Green Line", the UN buffer zone, between the countries with it's abandoned buildings lying in ruins. Sadly one is not allowed to enter or take pictures of course.
