Rest day at Allemont

A travel blog entry by eyork on Jul 29, 2015

We left our beloved botchy field, filled up with petrol and drove around the corner to Allemont. We hunted again for gas, or some way to make it work, but no luck. Again. Not very happy! Not only with the gas, but also troubles with the fridge and 12V powerpoints. Baguette for lunch, set up the van with electricity and went for a walk. Cold and rainy this afternoon, but still able to wander through the town of Allemont. A nice quiet rest day ...

We stopped for a banana and a rest, the continued on. We stopped at the summit of the Alpe d'huez for a coffee and shared a pizza. We sat outside in the sunshine - we ...

So we headed to the hotel. After changing clothes the four of us wandered around town and found a little cafe to eat. Of course being Americans we were craving a hamburger and found a place that had an open table. I also enjoyed a local beer which tasted pretty good after the ...

A travel blog entry by eyork on Jul 21, 2015

... 9hr drive ahead of us to get to the French alps. We arrived at 12.30pm after only a quick stop for petrol and for a baguette on the side of the hwy. €100 in tolls and €100 in fuel! We arrived in Bourg d'oisans at 12.30pm, pulled up next to some other campervans and went to ...
