Liepaja Travellers Hostel

... Yesterday we went with Ance (the girl who host me) for a walk on the beach. Beautifull place who give you loss to keep walking to Lithuanian beach (only 60 km from here) On the way back with stop to the rock bar, just for 1 drink, which end up now, at 12 oclock, noon time in the internet cafe. ... middle aged English chap. Luckily a couple of German girls and an Aussie guy turn up. Together with the two guys, a crazy Chilean and laid back German who are renovating the place we go out to sample the Baltic's rock capital. Being a Monday night its still quite but at the first place we go into a live band is playing radiohead, which puts me in a good mood for a good night. I have to leave a 7 and i don´t get to bed till 3 lets hope i don´t miss another bus.

Our short stay in Liepaja just wasn't long enough. Our hostel was about 2 blocks away from the beach and it bloody rained. That didn't stop us from going to the beach though. We went out one night with some people from the hostel, but mainly just chilled out playing air hockey, wathing DVD's and drinking.

... deserted and windswept. Not really good for just lazing around and forgetting about the world like Neringa, but they made for a very pleasant day walking up and down, searching for amber and exploring the ruined forts gradually being swallowed by the sea. What drove me out of Liepaja wasn't the lack of anything interesting in town; I just couldn't take the infestation of mormons there.

The first thing we found was the market, it seems that every town in these parts no matter how big or small, has a daily open air market. ... for a long time now. I have made a decision a long time ago. In spite of this, my mind is still questioning me about it at an unhealthy rate. Sometimes it is like a battle of different people inside me. I can't do anything but watch. Traveling with such a feeling inside, it is difficult the beauties of a nation. However, in Latvia I feel much better. The reason is my dear friend and soulmate, Alla, and her beautiful country.
