Similarly to naming Qingdao both the Switzerland and Riviera of China Suzhou is named the Venice of China. I think Suzhou deserves it's title a little more than Qingdao though. It's well pretty and has all sorts of fancy gardens you can visit, my favourite being 'The most Humble Administrator's Garden.' I took most of my photos in there. ... English Father Christmas! On Christmas Eve Ms Liang made a special Christmas dinner, a mixture of Chinese food and burgers and sausages! I enjoyed it :-) Then we opened our presents after dinner, which was really nice. We all received a pair of gloves! ... Host families were invited, but only mine and the ones from Hangzhou came along. There was a speech from the boss of Lopair, then a speech from the Lopair host, and then each family had to give a speech "sharing their cultural experience of having a foreigner in their house". During these speeches, the au pairs were told we could chat amongst ourselves. We all ended up moving over to the play area where the kids were and half whispering to each other, half playing ...

... pas avoir trop froid. J'ai commencé ma journée en montant en haut de la Pagode du temple du Nord. La vue de là-haut était plutôt sympa. Derrière la Pagode se trouvait un petit jardin avec tout un tas de chats et deux moines bouddhistes. L'atmosphère y était très calme et apaisante.
