We met our friend Jason at 9 AM and headed for the city of Suzhou also known as the Venice of the East. It is a city of canals and small boats. We visited the Humble Administrator's Gardens, which you can probably guess were in no way, shape, or form humble. Suzhou is known for its silk making and we saw some ...

We were ferried off to our classes - we waved the children off into the great unknown, with pairs of our students in grade six classes. As each pair entered their class they were greeted with rapturous applause! The students followed ...

... it was here that I bought some silk for mum to make a jacket/top for Kate's wedding. It cost 480 yuan which is about $96 Aus. We then drove through town to the harbour where we are taking a cruise down the river. This was an extra tour which cost us 50 yuan which is like $10 Aus. This river/lake cruise went for about 45min or so and was very interesting. Along the way we saw a lady watering her garden by using a bucket with some string and lowering it ...
