... whilst reading my book, Oli was in charge of steering and I think we probably just went around in circles for half an hour.
On Monday after school, we went to the next lake along, Lake Maggiore which was about a 30 minute drive and looked equally impressive as this lake. We got a cable car up about 1000m in height up a mountain, then got on a chairlift to a stunning view in 360deg of lakes and mountains. Unfortunately we have had to ditch the shorts and ...

The island itself consists of a central monastery inhabited by nuns ...

The most beautiful so far! And we have a really nice apartment this time. Rather traumatic drive here though as it was our first fairly prolonged exposure on this holiday to the infamous autostrada system around Milan. Bit like midlands M6 on steroids. No really hairy moments but a few expletives involuntarily uttered by one of us (well me actually) and apologised for! Flipping toll ...

... from the earpieces you wear for all tours these days. The cord to Mike's earpiece got ripped out altogether, destroying the bit that goes in your ear. It fell in pieces across a beautiful mosaic floor in the palazzo, leaving part of it still in his ear. First the pain hit his face, then a shocked look as he thought he had gone deaf because he couldn't hear due to the little piece still being in his ear.
    I know I should have ...
