Most of the time we walked under the trees and in the shade. Which was very nice, because it did start to get warm. There were plenty of benches so we decided to have our lunch under the trees, looking out over the lake at the waterfalls. Very nice... It really is a beautiful park. ...
The rain overnight added to our taking a slow start to the day. Very restful. We took the 20 minute walk to town rather than drive, all further training for our anticipated walks in the National Park. The Museum of Ancient Glass was our main interest in museums today but we couldn't resist checking out the food market first. A small variety of fruit and vegetables on display but fresh and god quality. The crates indicated a lot came from Italy which is an overnight ferry ...
... left over pizza from the night before. Pizza? For breakfast? What a brilliant idea. Especially when it is 5am and you are sleep deprived.
After 2 hours of waiting we boarded and headed out on the plane where Rush excitedly tried to get me to see the islands forgetting that I was in the middle seat and could see the wing. And the sky. Not, islands. He then proceeded to push my head down to see the islands, accomplishing me looking at the sky and Rusher looking like ...
... the whole thing in about 5 and a half
hours. The scenery was breathtaking, and the walk, though strenuous at times,
was great fun. Due to limited public transport we had to cut it short to be
able to get back to the campsite in time for dinner. A great way to unwind
after the previous cities alcohol binge, and to reconnect with nature and
greenery after countless days in capital cities! And with that it is time to
start heading north again, to Hungary!
... than 700 km and passed through Austria and Slovenia. The Alps were beautiful as expected, and added to our excitement to return to Austria next week. The trip was long, but relatively easy. No major issues to report, and we got great gas mileage in our little diesel-power ride. We arrived at our destination with more than 300 km still left on our original tank.
