    ... hour. So off we went, to the only communal area indoors on the campsite: the restaurant. When the hour was up, Dave came to tell us that Mick couldn't fix the bus and a mechanic was on his way out, but wouldn't be here until 4pm, so our day trip to the Plitvice Lakes was cancelled. On the roads connecting the villages the speed limit is 90km/hr. major roads which display directional signs on a blue background the speed is 100km/hr. motorways which display directional signs on a green background the speed is 130km/hr.     ... br> That first day, Karen, Ben and I walked round some of the lakes before heading up a very steep set of steps up the hillside for possibly the best views of the trip, looking down onto the lakes. We ended the day with a quick boat trip across the lake back to the hotel.

    ... the whole thing in about 5 and a half
    hours. The scenery was breathtaking, and the walk, though strenuous at times,
    was great fun. Due to limited public transport we had to cut it short to be
    able to get back to the campsite in time for dinner. A great way to unwind
    after the previous cities alcohol binge, and to reconnect with nature and
    greenery after countless days in capital cities! And with that it is time to
    start heading north again, to Hungary!
