The past couple days has been really fun for me. I got to visit a whole new place in Sendai and had a lot of fun with my fellow students. ... somewhat small, there were English explanations which were very helpful. I'm sure if we would have had a guide this would have been everything they would have told us. Because there are so many wonderful places in the area, Hiraizumi is registered as a World Heritage Site and they were able to also display a special exhibit about other World Heritage Sites. A true highlight of any japanese experience is Zao Onsen, a ski resort town about 45 minutes East of Yamagata.
Came here a bit by chance and was very lucky indeed. This town is so charming, lots of little lodges and restaurants, it's pretty, clean and surrounded by mountains, ski slopes and lakes.
