Quiet day, just us. The four of us went for a walk along the seafront in the morning, it was very cold and windy. Marni, wanted to wear her sparkly skipping shoes. What to do? The magician, Steve Price, was truly excellent. His tricks and illusions were very well done, and were all new to us. He also performed a non-stop funny patter and got people out of the audience to help him. We enjoyed his show very much and are looking forward to seeing him again later in the cruise.

The service was very good; it finished with a bugler playing the Last Post followed by two minutes’ silence. Then we all went to the aft decks, where a large memorial wreath was committed to the deep.

It only took five minutes to get to Durham railway station where we were pleased to see that our train to Liverpool Lime Street was on time.
