Mykonos, Greece
... Egypt it was so lovely to roam around without being hassled and we really enjoyed the friendly people and atmosphere of this pretty island. We made our way up the hill to the windmills, enjoyed a coffee and walked all through the narrow roads and lanes until we came across a Greek bakery where we stopped to enjoy "honey fritters". We had to be back at the ship by 1pm so we only had around 4 hours ...
The so-called party island
The stop in Mykonos was uneventful and pretty relaxing. OK meal in a local joint and the streets are famous for being a maze which has a sort of charm. We didn't have lovely weather but just a bit overcast and windy.
All in all, an OK place but we much preferred Santorini.

... I spent way too much money but I love all of my purchases, especially my new jewelry! We met up with one of our friends from our first Contiki called Chris while we were in Athens. We went out to a traditional Greek dinner with five courses, but alas their was no plate smashing. I considered smashing a plate off our table just for fun, but thought better of it at the last minute. Chris can speak fluent Greek, so it was great to hear him speak the language, ...

... clear water pretty much all over the island and the sandy beaches are incredible and it’s only a quick, cheap flight from England. I’m excited about coming back here and seeing all the friends we made again. It was a glorious, fun, relaxing week and exactly what I needed after 90 days of work without a day off. My next ship, the Veendam, will be 192 days (6 months) in a row til I get a night off so I’m going to make the most of my three free weeks now.
