... the Xianshanlou International Hostel (YHA).
The hostel was at the Xijin Ferry area a very old part of town that had a very strong English and German influence evident by German beer halls and very British-like architecture. We wondered around the area that is juxtaposed with an old city wall above which stood a beautiful temple on the hilltop.

Today main schedule is slim Xihu located in the south of yangzhou very beautiful in April these days. The city flower of Yangzhou Qiong glower broom for only ten days in April. We are very lucky to see it because of higher temperature. The restaurant "食为天” is delicious and worth of money average rate for one person CNY 60. Great first day ...

... cormorants, which are still used for fishing. They have rings put around their necks, so when they catch the fish they can't swallow, and the fishermen can retrieve the fish. Hopefully a practice which is dying out!
Yangzhou was a dirt poor village up to a few years ago, but is now rapidly expanding, with houses, hotels and shops being built. Streets full of restaurants and shops selling all sorts of touristy ...

On our second day in Taizhou, we woke up early and headed out to observe and learn Tai chi from masters of Tai chi. It was such a beautiful way to start the day, watching tai chi along the river, below beautiful traditional architecture towers.
