Our last night in Skiathos was delayed somewhat as we watched from our balcony, a most amazing fork-lightening show as a storm approached. Being the well planned boy scout that he is, Phil had a bottle of Rose stashed away in the fridge that helped us sit out the storm. Skiathos turned out to be a lovely and very relaxing 7 nights and we will certainly take away with us the beauty of this ...

As we sat waiting on the little church steps opposite we noticed a cute little bar near by and decided a drink while we waited was just the thing. The bar was run by Kostos, a local lad who had dreams of going to Australia. He told us that he had friends in Perth and would like to take a working holiday ...

    Kayaking in Skopelos

... I went with Dad, and Tom was in Mums Kayak. We went through lots of tunnels and into caves. Neil, our guide told us how an old seal lived in the cave but hid when it was very busy. If he is home, you can hear him snoring. One day, the seal got a fright and actually bit and broke the arm of a snorkeller. We kayaked 8.2km. Sometimes the water was very choppy.

I really loved our time in Skopelos.

The population of Skopelos is about 6000.
