Dave and I thought that the Buddha reminded us of Christ the redeemer in Rio. He is just an impressive. The Buddha faces Beijing in China, he has curly hair which signifies wisdom and his eyes are half closed which means he has compassion. Overall, the giant Buddha is situated in such a position that he looks over both China and Hong Kong. It is hoped that this keeps peace between the two....I hope so too, Hong Kong ...

... complimentary food as possible. In the evening, we checked out House of Dancing Water, a cirque du solei- esque performance at the City of Dreams casino. This was pretty awesome. The arena holds five Olympic swimming pools worth of water, and converts from 8 meters of water to a solid stage in under a minute. There were some brilliant gymnastics, a slightly confusing story, and a very gratuitous scene on motorbikes. Overall, it was really very impressive.

... which celebrate the Year of the Horse - which is my year!

After an exhausting day at Disney we flopped again, and then the following morning woke up early so I could take Chris up the Peak to see the view, which I had promised him is stunning. Unfortunately we got there so early that all we could see was cloud, but Chris did like the Peak Tram with the steep incline up the hill. After this we went back to the hotel to pack up and get ready to catch the train to China.

... after about an hour of exploring was the Peak. We were hoping to take the trolley car to the top, but we just took the bus there instead. There were 2 malls (of course) and we managed to get to the free observation deck during a break in the rain. It was a great view, and it was nice to have clouds and fog so it wasn't too hot. After a few hours at the peak, we took the famous trolley car down, which felt like it was at a 70 degree angle the whole time! It was a little scary as ...
