      ... afternoon oohing and awing at the technology and artistry on display. My favorite was a row of 8-foot black-necked cranes made with thousands of painted sunflower seeds. The vegetable grafting robot was also cool.

      Finally, about 7:30 PM Fan Yan and the Primary School principal took us to a stadium where we saw some elaborate kites with blinking lights, some flying in groups with coordinated moves, others as singles. It was cold and windy but the crowd was enthusiastic. Back to the hotel about 10 pm with instructions to be ready at 7:20 am with luggage packed.
