We walked back and went into a gadget shop. I've bought a gadget - a single cube speaker that works in my iPod and computer. It's very small and wasn't very expensive. Then we explored the backstreets and found the Rua Da Felicidade, which our hostel lies off. There were indeed red shutters down the street and it looked very clean.
