... than normal for the time of year. Getting sun-withdrawal symptoms and wanting to warm up a bit, we continued west having to miss out on our stop in Mississippi. A shame, because reputedly Meridian has the best ice cream in the land (and we all know which crew member loves ice cream)! ... area has shops. Some are upscale cowboy gear and some are “otherwise”.

Lunch was at a recommended restaurant for barbecue--brisket, of course. Wow what a disappointment! We had brisket (very fatty), cowboy beans (pretty good), potato salad, coleslaw, and fried okra. All were just commercially prepared and ordinary. We were sad since we had really looked forward to brisket at the stockyards. ...

... him of when he was nine years old and had played a pee wee football game at Texas Stadium. It was special coming full circle with his son nearly 40 years and one new stadium later. It was so memorable for us as Cowboys fans. Loved being in Dallas, where we were surrounded by fellow Cowboys fans everywhere; a nice change from living in “enemy territory” in the DC area! :) It was very awesome, start to finish!
