My kids are lucky enough to see these things as they are learning about them in school. I have waited 44 years to see these places and landmarks with my own eyes.

Another awesome day travelled back from London caught up with Frances and Mick & Adrian then went with April & Rob to Detroit in the USA to see the Detroit Tigers v Chicago White Sox's great! Bad result but it was still great ate a hot dog sang the song in the 7th innings stretch and got home at 1 the next ...
... and oh so yummy. Matt goes nuts over the teppanyaki. His favorite meal!)
It ended up taking us 12 hours to make the "short" 8 hour drive. So much for our plans to get home early!
So this is the final detailed budget tally. Turned out to be a pretty low-cost vacation - especially since we did many "bucket list" activities that are typically super expensive.

This summer, the Ly and Jun families decided to combine forces to spend a week in a cabin in the mountains. We had wanted to rent a cabin together for some time but it was pretty expensive to rent a place in Ontario. Then I stumbled across rentals in the Smokies and was shocked to discover just how inexpensive it was there!
I ended up finding an incredible cabin that was beautiful ...
... Plus you can ask to taste cheese or deli at the counter before deciding to buy.
The gorgeous Brasserie Zedel has a 2-course menu for 8.95 pounds (excluding service). 3 courses for 11.75. Brasserie Cote (several restaurants in London) is another good bet, with 2 courses for under 10 pounds.
