The Hotel Hullu Poro (Crazy Reindeer) was a great base for our holiday in Levi, Finland. It was in the heart of Levi with everything we needed close at hand. It was very welcoming, warm and cozy. We stayed in one of the hotel's annexes. I think I would of preferred to have stayed in the main hotel as my hair froze every morning on the way to breakfast, but we loved our room nevertheless. The hotel had a good bar area and their hot chocolate was beautiful. They also had a well stocked shop from which we bought many souvenirs. We stayed half board at the hotel so had breakfast and an evening meal there most nights. The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast, but when they did bacon that was delicious. The evening buffet had a large selection of food to cater for everyone's taste. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it to anybody.

The holiday came to an end and although Manchester Airport had to close for one day while we were away due to snow, Kittila Airport stayed open the whole week even though we had had a metre of snow!! We boarded the plane in Kittila Airport and took off on an ice rink once again. Manchester, UK here we come!!
The end of a holiday of a lifetime. We were sad to leave the country of 'Lakes and Forests', but one day I know we will return for another Finnish ...
... showed to our table and the evening started with welcome drinks. We had three courses of food which started with fish soup. Although I am not a lover of fish, the soup was ok and I ate it. Next came the main course. This is the part where we had to help ourselves to the food from the hot fire pit in the centre of the room. We all queued up in an orderly fashion and then moved around the fire in ...
... English family before our tour commenced. The tour was very informative and showed us all the main parts of the hotel, we even got shown our ice room for the night. Unfortunately we could not have private access to our hotel room until 10.30pm when the hotel closes to visitors, otherwise visitors would be having tours of the hotel while we were sat in bed, and as there were no doors on the hotel rooms, just sheets for privacy, this may have been awkward. The hotel ...
Having been dropped off at our hotel after our magical night in the thermal glass igloo, we got kitted up and went back into Levi souvenir shopping. Thursday was a day of rest; we had no activities planned at all. We explored the ski slopes (from the bottom) took a load of photographs of the place, frequented more coffee shops and of course the Pannukakkutalo Pancake House for more pancakes. We also found a nice little cake and pastry shop that we just had to try called the Café and ...
... 4.5 hours including a one hour break at the dog camp for lunch, was much more enjoyable than the first excursion. As said, the dogs were much better behaved and less forceful. They could be much better controlled and handled. Applying the brakes actually slowed them down or even stopped them very quickly. But I hardly had to apply the brakes on this excursion. I could remain standing on the sled's runners ...
