Change of Plans...Again!

A travel blog entry by grantandbonnie on Jul 14, 2014

Originally, we were going to "end" our trip by going to Austin to see the show Tommy since we are hoping to do that show in another year or so. We pretty much nixed that idea sometime over the last couple of weeks, deciding that we didn't want to spend the money. But, we still liked the idea of driving through Texas and with the loss of Rocky Mountain NP, we decided to go to Waco to visit the Balcones Whiskey Distillery. ... I put $240 on pump 23. It will not take it, but it is cash. After trying it 5 times she calls for help. Nobody comes. Finally someone comes and figures it out. Only took 25 minutes to fill up. After getting set up, we unhooked the truck and the kind ...

Spent another hot day riding from Claremore and have now arrived in EL Reno for the night. We we're advised that a huge storm was coming in and possibly a tornado, therefore Steve spent ages driving around Oklahoma looking for Motels that were structurally sound, low rise and made of bricks with no trees nearby!!! He is busy planning escape routes as I am writing this! He had to make sure the Hog was safe and covered....not for insurance purposes but ...

Home Sweet Home

Brandon and I were able to travel to Kingfisher last year for the Brown family reunion. I haven't been to a reunion in a very long time but I must say this one made me feel quite at home. I remember lots of the men and women from playing cards when I was a kid at Fountainhead Resort. It brought back memories of my childhood that warmed my ...
