Another beautiful day of weather for driving! We were heading to El Reno, just west of Oklahoma for our first stop. I wasn't able to get any photos but we did find it fascinating to see Oil pumps several places as we drove around Oklahoma City. A sure sign you are in the SW.

Made some tasty hotdogs and buggers over the coals and then ducked into the tent for ghost stories. We will never forget about the birthday girl Sandra who tormented us in our tent all night ...

... canyon full of tall green trees and deep red walls. The contrast with the green tress, blue sky and red rocks reminded me of pottery. We were very relieved to have found the oasis under the flat oven stretching for miles and miles with only dwindley little trees offering less than shade. So we napped (after eating coconut ice cream, yum:P).

The sun dropped and the air cooled, and we set off again, this time into the ...
