... saw was red dirt -- unbelievably red dirt! Many things were growing, so apparently the color of the soil doesn't matter -- big fields of sorghum, corn, hay, and again, soon-to-be-planted wheat. There were big wind farms and huge herds of grazing cattle. We're still following along the old historic Route 66, so there were old abandoned gas stations and restaurants along the way ...

Another beautiful day of weather for driving! We were heading to El Reno, just west of Oklahoma for our first stop. I wasn't able to get any photos but we did find it fascinating to see Oil pumps several places as we drove around Oklahoma City. A sure sign you are in the SW.

We got into camp in time to watch the sunset, have a shower and dinner. It was a nice looking, small park from what we could see in the fading light. It was only intended as an over night stop anyway so as long as it had power and showers that's all we where worried about.
