After fond farewells to our German madam we set off for a leisurely walk to Eauze the capital of the Armagnac Region...what a lovely walk through fields and then on to vineyards.... acres and acres of them and then the final seven kilometres were along a disused rail track very flat which was good and very shaded and pretty...although this walk was an easy 17 with not too much up or down we still struggled ...

Of course now we have visited the beautifully cathedral complete with ...

Quite a monied town I would think with classy shops so we bought beautiful little chocolates and bits from a wonderful gourmet shop, the likes of which I had never seen..glad we don't have one at castle towers or I'd be in real trouble. Now I ...

... and dried fruit... Lovely to take the shoes off for an airing before we walked the final 9 km for the day...... Oh my goodness.. Again the word undulating has different meanings to many people...to us today " steep mountains" up and down...pain. We are now in gite... Not our favourite style however the madam is down stairs cooking what I'm sure will be a fantastic French meal.... She has a thermomix......can you believe ...

The most spectacular part of today's journey was the colour of autumn leaves. And we moved through the fruit growing area. We are in the area close to the River Garonne. We found the aire and it was adequate. It reminded me of a gite we stayed in some years ago in the Dordogne. There were posters telling camping car occupants what they should and shouldn't do! We had a lot of downloads to complete, but the nearest MacDonalds was 25 km away. Knowing that some tourist offices ...
