Foi Grais, pate, breads, hommus, entree of zucchini terrine and soup then a main of slow roasted duck with potatoes and then CHEESE and THEN a cherry pudding. ... area. We decided to go to another bar on a different street but the bar seemed to very rowdy so we decided to go back to the bar we were out. We then decided to try going to a dance club. Unfortunately we could not find one, so we ended up just going back to the hotel. I stayed up for a little talking to others but when I got really tired I decided it was time to go back to my room and go to sleep. I decided to pack in the morning. Tomorrow we were going to Switzerland.

... bridge high above the Sa˘ne to save time ... not a great sensation, I found. Hit the Gare Perrache and the Geneva train after booking our seats for next Sunday to Toulouse. The Geneva train was rapid with few stops, weaving its way into forested valleys with rocky peaks. We had a compartment to ourselves, so we chatted and dreamed at will. Two and a bit hours.

Later we arrived at Geneva ... exactly on time, to stand in ...

Excursion to Lyon

... quarter mile around. At one end of the park was a statue of King Louis XIV, who apparently was important enough to the French citizens that they didn't destroy his statue. He was perched on top of a horse with a statue of a woman riding a lion on one side, and a man fighting a lion on the other. It was a bit bizarre, but still really beautiful and it reminded me again of how much I love French history and art.
