The ship arrived in Lyon after lunch; we boarded a bus and toured around with a stop at one of the last family-owned silk scarf manufacturers. That was really impressive, and I don't even go for silk scarves! They use ~20-40 'screens' per design, they mix the paint with arabic gum so it's thick enough to stick to the silk but still thin enough to spread. ... u found that if i just didn't have enough energy to speak and think in French, I'd just go out or stay in my room. Anyways, I got a covoiturage at 12pm and made my way to Lyon. Then checked into my hostel. Not a bad place, but it's a bit dirty and so hot without any air-conditioning. And the wifi wasn't working. I'm posting this from the free wifi at Starbucks.
