... a castle fortress overlooks a wide beach. We explored a bit, ate a bit, and rode home along the coastal route enjoying beautiful views of the ocean all along the ride. ... a few open. We ate a Vietnamese restaurant at 2.30pm. It was quaint in that there were a few tables in the front of the premises and toward the back the family was eating and had a baby in a big bassinet. We enjoyed the meal, it was a total change from what we'd been eating and like many NZers we like Asian food. Ang felt she'd had some real food - it must have felt to her like meat and three veg. ... It was a long but interesting drive a majority of it through the Carmague. I very nearly ran out of petrol but just as I must have been on fumes a petrol station appeared after 40 miles of not seeing one.

About an hour out of Le Cap D'Agde, we hit bad weather and although the waterproofs did their job, it was a pretty miserable trip into Le Cap.
