Once we got settled in our hotel and went to get on the Internet he realized he's left a major component to plug in his computer at the hotel we stayed in last night. So, he had to schlep up the hill about a kilometer to a store that charged him an arm and a leg for what he left behind. Oh well, accidents do happen. I'm just glad it happened to him and not me.

Last night at around 10.30 we were having some G&TS when we heard some loud popping sounds outside! We opened our shutters and were thrilled to see an amazing fireworks display literally over the road. We took some photos and were entertained for over 40 minutes. Fun Fact:  Did you know that Bern, Switzerland has bears right in downtown and has had since the 12th Century?!  Well, now you do!  I was all ready to get all PETA about the bears being mistreated and made to live in this tiny area, but they actually had a very large area with lots of trees and vegetation...even a pool.  In the early days, their environment was pretty bad, but now they seem healthy and content being where they are. We went into yet another store ...

... past a few cows lying down, one got up and we thought we were going to have some trouble, but luckily not. Of course I was the one who stepped in a hole in the middle of a field and took a dive, but luckily didn't hurt anything and most importantly...didn't land in a cow pie!

That night there was a food festival (La Nuit Des Saveurs) in Morat, which is a medieval town ...

A cold late start but stunning beautiful clear weather, for
about half an hour, and then the clouds came in. However it wasn’t raining so
outside with us. Still feeling a little piqued from the previous days exertions
we set off on a short walk to observe the Le Saut-Du- Doubs waterfall. Very
pretty it was too. The lake nearby had a lot of small fish in it.

After a slow walk back the rest of the day was spent on housework
      and ...
