... all along the coast and the way the forest comes right down to the sea in places. Brendon bought a few more picnic supplies and we had a lovely picnic on the hotel terrace with a bottle of Dolcetto from Tenuta Fagnanetto - it was the perfect red wine for a picnic. The kids had a great play with a little boy also staying at the hotel - I love how there's no language barrier between kids. Now I'm off to watch Germany V ...

... road consisting of a series of enormous bridges that drive across the top of all the coastal towns below. Our hotel room is tiny - the smallest we've had to deal with so far (gulp). La Croix Valmer is a pretty town a couple of kms from the beach. It's late so we grabbed dinner and got back to our rooms pronto. We need to polish up on our French too!! Settling in

... The best thing on the menu was the Prosecco although Anne’s house special looked pretty good. Pasta and nuts and sausage and cream, looked great, tasted great. Then off for a treat at The Cuban, formerly Africka Restaurant, for ice cream. Kit leapt at the Dame Blanche while the girls each had a Ligeios Chocolat, which appeared to contain 65% chantilly cream and 35% chocolate ice cream. A potent mix if ever there was one.
