So on October 30 - we visited several wineries - tasted various c******nay types - visited a family owned winery a purchase a few bottles of pouilly fuisse - my favorite - had a great dinner at the B and B
October 31 - visited Cluny and the Abbey - the revolutionaries in 1790 destroyed the most beautiful abbey -- we seen this a lot throughout France - we then went to a 1600 chateau - beautiful visit.

... got to bed around 10.30pm. We went through a lock during dinner, but as was dark couldn't see how it all worked, we also docked at Tournus during the latter part of dinner. All done very smoothly. We had a later start today, which was good, bus left at 9.00am, this time we went to visit a Truffle Farm (sampled truffle mixed with butter on slice of thin crusty bread & glass of C******nay with it & a tour of Cormatin Castle , very ...

... rotisserie poulet & beer! When the veau arrived it turned out to be a jellied meat, rather like head cheese, served hot with girbiche sauce (maybe tartar sauce?), very delicious, but an unusual texture, not for all palates, I'm sure, but it worked for me! A local specialty tried, tick!!

Another wander through the market, across the bridge and back to the car for the drive back ...

Up and atom as they say we have to drive across France today, we set our GPS for the shortest route and no toll roads knowing that this will take us along all the small country roads so we can really see France. What a wonderful journey it was too, Rod was excited to see so many cows!!! As for me I was just happy not to be on the busy stressful highways with all the idiots testing your nerves. ...

... Paul's relief as three traffic cones had tried to commit suicide by throwing themselves into his path earlier and scared the pants off Paula to boot.
Glad that the sun was out and the temperatures rising, it was time for lunch. Baguettes eaten we edged out onto the road south only to see Sally and Simmo whizz past! Apparently they had seen us at several 'stops' along the way, but only when too late to turn in. At last the group was together ...
