It is Sunday and very wet and miserable here in Antibes. Quite a change from the glorious day we had yesterday. Ideal for computer work in fact... (Except that then things didn't pan out as planned and it is now Monday)

Gorgeous morning and a stunning place for breakfast awaited us just outside Scooby overlooking the lake. I went for a run but Kim was feeling a little under the weather so she stayed and made me breakfast - yay! We spotted two girls about our age and attempted to engage in some conversation but their English was limited and French is rubbish. Shame as its manily been the grey hair brigade we ...

... but seriously....not so pretty madame....we also passed blois and another castle that i forget the name of, in the van.

all in all castle day was just about one of the most amazing days ever i still cant believe that buildings like that are even real. just insane.

alright im sorry for how long this is....and if you actually managed to read it, you must love me a lot or something...?

... Deze keer wel de canyon volledig tot beneden gedaan in plaats van eerder te stoppen zoals vorig jaar. Maar hebben dan nu ook geen rugzak onderweg vergeten!

Dit was verder ook onze laatste canyon van de week en na vandaag zullen we weer een heel tijdje geduld mogen uitoefenen om nog eens een canyon in te duiken!

... deze nog verder naar beneden moeten afdalen of dat we dan te ver zijn en weer vertrokken zijn voor een lange uitloop.

Samen besluiten we dan maar om aan de rechterkant zelf een uitweg te zoeken uit de canyon. Langs een steenlawine kruipen we langzaam omhoog om uiteindelijk de verharde weg terug te vinden.
Een steenlawine omhoog kruipen is echter geen aanrader. Als je dit kan vermijden, zeker doen!

... I made my favourite salmon salad for dinner. Smoked salmon, greens, avocados, asparagus, aubergine, roasted peppers, peas, hazel nuts, and blue cheese. Jan-Erik complained about the price, said it was very expensive compared to Sweden. He paid 5 euro for a 200g pack, which I think is pretty much what we pay at home. We had a pleasant time over dinner and just before 10.30pm we started to walk down to the water, and so ...

... inside: I realized then that I was on the famous Promenade des Anglais. For those of you unfamiliar with Nice, the Promenade des Anglais is basically a very long board walk right along Nice's beach...it goes a little further beyond but it primarily winds along the beach. Why is it so famous, you ask? Well, I was assuming from my observations that it's famous because everyone hangs out there...I saw a lot of pedestrians-tourist and local alike ...

... and we took over the bar. I managed to keep up with the drinkers and outdrink a few LOL. I had 9 shots and 7 mixed drinks - some of the boys started to spew early on in the night and bombed out - was really funny as they had bragged how big drinkers they were. I managed to outlast them all and was barely tipsy let alone drunk. Headed to bed and Jem was up and down spewing - I managed a relatively good night sleep and got up early again the next day for the bus to Italy

... the town, we took a bus to the beach. As it pulled up, the driver told us, in the typical fashion of the French that it was impossible to buy a ticket ON the bus. It had to be purchased from the ticket counter inside. Luckily, there were about 20 people boarding the bus, so we rushed inside and waited behind 6 or so people to buy the tickets.
