Funny put on my new togs and they were very tight, while I thought we were being really conservative with food and drinks was most perturbed at the tight fit.     No hurry to go ashore, must have been around 11am. Tendered in the lifeboats today. Caught the tourist bus, again excellent value for 1.5hrs, €10ea. The commentary was not very informative, brief, and hard to hear, but the sights, the BEACHES, were gorgeous. The cemetery was something else entirely, 45,000 graves - we thought it smelt too!     The city not only encloses the entire harbour but takes up the better part of the Gulf of Ajaccio, which is the largest gulf in the world.
    Over 65000 population over the entire area. This city is the birthplace of Napoleon in 1769 who became the French Emperor in 1804 and spread Revolution through Europe and in 1811 made Ajaccio the capital in Corsica.

    ... ve been to London a few times before, we hadn't been there before. What an incredible place, it went for miles, along side streets, in alleys, old stables, up stairs, downstairs, passages etc. there were lots of stalls selling clothes, t shirts, Persian rugs, jewellery, paintings, as well as every conceivable cuisine. The food choices for lunch were unbelievable, with many stalls giving small free samples to help make up your mind. We had some chicken masala in naan bread ...
