... in variety of flavours which are dipped into hot milk until they melt.

Then we head off to try Luxembourg wine at Ross suggestion. If you have never tried it - definately give it a go. Amazing couple hours drinking fine white wine.

'I wouldn't want to take away his manhood so it would have to be someone girly like Leo.' Jamie enough said.
'Which one was I drinking again? Red or blue' Nicky deciding between the Pinot and Reisling ...

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope everyone is having a great time eating turkey and watching football back home :). I'm in a country where we aren't subjected to the awful sport of football fortunately. Unfortunately they don't typically celebrate Thanksgiving either. Luckily I am reasonably close to one of my best friends from the states and we were able to celebrate turkey day in typical American fashion. This morning I travelled for 4 hours by train to ...

Our Day in the Country

... heard some Luxemburgish music and I liked it. Conrad worked on the computer to map our route for tomorrow while Karyn and I chatted. Spoogy sat in her lap for a bit and then made his way to mine. He is a very sweet dog! We all went to bed at 11 pm. I stayed up for an hour more to upload pictures while making a tent with my blanket. I hid under it because it was warmer that way! I drifted off to sleep at midnight.

City in the trees

Of course I needed to visit Luxembourg, hiding away there between France, Germany and Belgium. It is the fifith smallest country in the world. It is very hilly and surrounded by trees. The hostel is down at the bottom of a cliff, yay! The city of course is quite small, but it is surrounded by ruins and forest which makes it quite a unique city in amongst the hustle and crowds of all the other major cities. The people there speak French and their own language, Luxembourgish I suppose.

3 weeks in Luxembourg

All in all...boring once I figured out that, apparently, it is impossible to get a job when you dont have a visa or speak the local language (go figure), I had little to do. In a nutshell, I cooked some interesting dishes, watched TV series online and planned for USA, jobs etc. Highlights include... 30km Bike ride along the Luxembourg, Belgium border on the best day for weather, Jason Mraz concert and Celtic festival in Belgium. Jason Mraz was soo talented and ...

Luxembourg

So relieved to be here. I am so glad for Melanies hospitality and it is so nice to catch up with Carrie finally. Just resting up before we head off to london. When i look out my window it reminds me of the song in Beauty and the Beast, this provincial town where all the french people open thier window and say bonjour! We did tour around the tourist centre of Luxembourg city and had some Gluhwien which is jsut hot wine. and went to BCBG ...

Luxurious Luxembourg (and the Schlecky Schlecks)

... breakdown of the history of Luxembourg, also called the "Gibraltar of the North" because it is considered to have been the most highly fortified place after the Rock. Luxembourg is pretty for a place that has been destroyed and taken over by numerous hostile countries during its existence. The resilience of the place, once you hear about its history, is nothing short of incredible. The train ...

Luxembourg via Eperney (champagne cellar tour)

... robot 'train' (for want of a better description) took us thru various parts of the underground workings, while an employee explained them to us....for a non-champagne drinker like me, it was still quite interesting, especially some of the war-time dramas the French went thru keeping the good stuff from the enemy at the time. We all got to sample the wares at the conclusion of the short tour, and some partook of the well laid out store before we hit the coach once ...

Country and City of Banks

... small country, all the cartoons on TV and in the newspaper seemed to not have words, just gestures and sound. The weather was kind of grey, the food was good. We discovered Croque Monsieurs (like grilled cheese sandwiches with ham -delish!)

Paris to Luxembourg

... Casemates - tunnels and chambers dug to further fortify Luxembourg city. Saw Notre Dame church and walked along the park at the bottom of the valley where we found an old church built into the side of the hill. Luxembourg is a beautiful medieval valley.
