... and their son Thierry were waiting for us just outside, relieved that we had finally arrived after two days of delays. We talked and caught up on news as we walked to the car and they drove us the short way to the waterfront of Saint Denis where they had reserved a hotel room for us. It was about 23:30 by the time we checked in and said goodbye for the night. Although we mostly just sat in taxis, on planes and in lounges, it has still been quite a long and tiring ...

... br> Overall we have had the most amazing experiences travelling throughout eastern and southern Africa. We would strongly recommend travelling to these awesome places.

In June we leave Australia for Sth America and intend writing a new blog for these adventures. Hope you have enjoyed reading our blog. We, ourselves,

look forward to reading it all once we get home.

Ps. We hope to put some photos on here as soon as we get time back home.

vegetation and then finally this bizarre Mars like scenery where there had
previously been lava flows. The last part of the drive to the crater rim was

After lunch we continued east and descended just as steeply and twisty as coming up but on that side of the island there is rain forest on almost vertical hillsides. Finally we stopped in St Denis for a quick look at Government House, the oldest building on the island. Both Mauritius and Reunion had no native people and have only been occupied since ...

We say a sad farewell to Nathalie, Thierry, Julie, Tibor and Ilyen but not before we have been given rum punch for ourselves, Greg and Grandma Joan. Sue also has a wonderful basket, handmade by one of Thierry's ...
