Went for a walk to the old part of Orcet this morning, lots of narrow winding streets no wider than a small car, really quirky with a large church in the centre. Took the dogs for a walk down some leafy lanes, quote a nice stopover and the sunshine certainly helps. We hit Spain tomorrow as we continue South

We were up, packed up and ready to leave by 8.30 this morning!!! No alarm was necessary as the dutchy caravan and family behind us decided to start packing up and left by 7.30!! We made our way to Laguiole to buy knives (of course). We checked out a few options and then had some lunch. The first restaurant was like a massive, airless food hall that kept on going and going. We left and ended up in another where the waiter was abrupt, but the steak was good. We walked up to the forges to see where the famous knives were made. After a long and tiring journey we arrived at our campsite. Weather is lovely so went for an uphill walk in the evening. Just enjoying a beer in the bar now. Day by the pool tomorrow me thinks. Did a little reading by the van after breakfast and then dozed off. After lunch went and had a dip in the pool. The Puy de Dome district is an area of extinct volcanoes in the southern part of France. We stayed at a village perched on the side of a rocky steep hillside called Saint Nectaire. It is famous for its certain types of cheese and they had a cheese shop there to try it.
