500 miles drive back to Calais today......
Left the site at Issoire at 7 and left the motorway north of Orleans at 10:30. Bit more traffic and the detour around Rouen but we got to the site at Calais after a lunch stop and a coffee break for 4:00. Little tent up in 20 mins, quick beer then off to the new pool for a dip then curry for tea. ...

3 hrs to Thurrock, way ahead of time so coffee at services. Bad move. As we came out a truck had caught fire before the bridge and led to over an hour delay. We were offered an early train so took it and ended up in Calais at 4:00. 30 mins drive to our fave little site in Licques. Omelette and frites for tea washes down with Organic Cotes du Rhone at £2:50 a bottle from ...

We had never been to Honfleur before and, although we didn't intend to stop there, we wanted to travel through the town and drive over the spectacular bridge, which spans the River Seine on its exit to the sea.
We drove past the harbour and round to the bridge. I absolutely love bridges and their architecture and I was not disappointed with Honfleur's. It cost us €6.80 to cross it but we all felt it was worth it for the experience!
    We had a ...

    Meditation and alone time

Anna left for Paris this morning and since I drank a bit much last night (after the France victory) I slept in this morning and didn't get to say goodbye. Hopefully I'll get to see her and thank her for everything one last time once we're back in Paris!

After I woke up I made a little brunch (which normally consists of ham and butter sandwiches with mustard and Camembert) and then headed to the beach for the ...
