... over 1.5 million tourists each year as it is the source of a natural spring. It's wierd seeing a fast flowing river and then walking 50 metres "upstream" and there only being a trickle.. and then a bit further and no water... nothing but a big cliff straight up!
The town itself is nestled in a valley and is particularly pretty at dusk when rocks take on the colours of the sunset ...
... people for a cab. And waited. And waited. Finally, we got sick of waiting and I took the hotel directions over to a bus driver and via a short game of charades, got him to determine if his bus would get us to our destination. He indicated it would with a short walk, so we hopped on the bus and rode it into town. Our hótel was about a 7 minute walk from the bus stop and we entered to check in. We introduced ourselves ...

We visited three towns ...
... in Asian restaurants and we didn't feel that was very authentic (oh, and they wouldn't let us share - they tried to make us order a plate each, no thanks!) so we ended up at a little cafe ordering hamburgers..... which came out as a half-cooked mince meat patty thing.. quite unappealing. But doused in a whole lot of sauce they were edible and we were on our way to continue exploring Avignon (read: find an internet cafe to satisfy our facebook cravings ...
Avignon, Provence, France t_lee... cities. So although having an atlas of the area is good, the signs really guide you from town to town. Not only that, trying to navigate by street names is almost impossible because the street names are almost never posted, or are small ass signs on buildings. Not very helpful. Anyway, onto our trip: Provence is very beautiful, with many Roman-inspired buildings. We started off in Aix-en-Provence, known for Paul Cezanne. According ...

Otherwise all buildings are attached and share a common roof - the roof being the main way fire travels from building to building. Also, the floors and walls and contents of each house are wood. So while the fire won't burn the stone walls, it will jump from house to house easily. * There are three buildings always found outside the city walls in Provence: the ...
