Martine drove us through the Pyrenées into Spain, this morning. We explored San Sebastián and then had tapas for lunch. It was fun to try out our Spanish. We found a great ice cream shop and also bought some souvenirs. From there, we went back into France and spent some time in Saint Jean de Luz. This town is famous because it is here that Louis XIV married Eugenie of Spain, forming the Peace Treaty of the Pyrenées. Lastly, we went to ...

Sahid went for a surf and i enjoyed lunch with my new friends. 3 courses including drinks for 11 ...

... out to dinner for as long as humanly possible and were able to dine at an authentic Basque restaurant. It was 8 o'clock, yet we got one of the first tables at Txotx, a traditional Basque cafe, recommended by our guide. By the time we left - closer to 10, the place was filling with locals. A delicious dinner! Becca's corner: Axoa of course! A Basque veal stew for dinner. And piperade, a sauce made of local peppers tomatoes, onions, ham and ...

... we had lunch. Crossed into France again. We had been paying motorway tolls all day in Spain, and now had to pay our share to France! Very trying and expensive at times. Noted the road signs are still in two languages- now French and Basque. Arrived at our camp for the night in the small town of Orhez. Needed to try our poor French again but we managed. Soft rain as we finished dinner. Hope for a quiet night. Tomorrow I ...
