... seems a bit more relaxed than Bayonne's, as I think this is a party town all year round, so that don't really need to fire it up much more for their Fiesta. The city is all about the beach and the food it seems. From about 10am onwards the beach is lined with people of all ages walking the about 6km up and back along the beach. There is loads of room in the morning with a massively changing tide being out, then mid afternoon it comes in and the thousands ...

After a 6am start to go to Golf, then a swim, lunch then on the bikes to Biarritz via the cycle lanes. Being August and Holidays the roads were crazy, it so brilliant to be on the path. ... bridge as Napoleon intended to build a sea wall. After it fell, it was replaced by a steel bridge designed by Gustav Eiffel. Biarritz has a myriad of beautiful streets, shops, and people leading up the hill from the old port. It also has some stunning buildings perched in all the best locations , and a mix of French and Spanish food, as you can see Spain from here. ... meters out there is another car park, the footpaths continue through, then another hundred out, there is a beach area and then another pool then the paths extend out up to the top of the wall, acting as a shelter from the sea. It is really well done. I spent the first bit of sunshine I have had in ages, trying to do kart wheels in the sand and well of course getting my feet wet in the freezing ocean! The sunshine felt soooo good though!

It was drizzling rain ...
