      ... And most of them were far from trail. So you see, we were burning and panting and thirsty. We had our water bottle almost half empty when we were halfway the summit. Horse rides were offered at the foot of the volcano if anyone decided to ride instead of hike. So, apparently, aside from the sandy soil, there were horse manure everywhere.
