We wanted to keep it pretty simple today. A Quick drive by the lovely Saumur Chateau and a stop in a Winery. The Winery was EXCELLENT. Yet another bonus of the low season, had the winemaker to ourselves who showed us around...Ella even had a few glasses on grape juice on the house. ... with all our sleep patterns. The Jetstar flight from Darwin to Singapore just had to be endured. Singapore airport is still one of the most civilised airport around... The Emirates flights were fabulous. The service was so good and the A380s are so comfortable and spacious. Still not conducive to deep sleeping. Travelling for so long in such a confined space brings out the best and the worst in people. We had an example of both...friendly families ...

I was a bit flustered by this stage so asked them, exusi mwa, parli vous anglais (do you speak English) and prattled on asking how to get to the car park through another entrance as they both stood and stared at me. The lovely man looks at me and says - stop speaking! Too funny, of course I'd been rambling way too quick. He was then very nice and explained that he had a little English, come with him, he left his wife following behind ...

... thrown at us - an assortment of hats, newspapers, food, even condoms.
We then wandered over a bridge to a roundabout at the 32km banner (32km from home) and picked up the race coming through.
A 4-man break away followed by the peloton - no one dropped off the back.
Within a few minutes we were on the road following the peloton, back over the Loire River and another scenic route of about 30km ride back to Tours.
