In all the châteaux I have greatly admired the wonderful carved furniture, the cabinets often inlaid with mother of pearl and also the huge tapestries, many faded now but where the colours were better preserved you could imagine the glorious effect ...

... 16th century tapestries, paintings, china etc. In one place the kitchens still had medieval sink, stove, pump and oven with copper pots and pans and it was easy to imagine what life was like!

Had an easy day today just wandering and eating and drinking - very tempting iin France as there are cafes and bars everywhere ...

Today we were lucky enough to see another beautiful chateau. I didn't realize how many castles there actually are in France, but there are thousands and its truly incredible. The name of this one is Chenonceaux and it is located on the Loire Valley. It is one of the most well known castles of the area and is the second most visited castle in France behind Versailles.
