With the bikes off loaded and the dogs trailer assembled and attached off we set, first setback, the cycle path access point was blocked due to roadworks, not to be put off we went up and over the flood barrier and continued on our ride. We save the best for last - visiting the incredible Chateau de Chenonceau built spanning the River Cher in the 16th Century. The architecture of this castle is unique in the world, and it is the most visited in the Loire Valley. It is well furnished, and has so many gorgeous original artworks that it qualifies as an art museum in its own right.

... was an emergency. James and I called the emergency number straight away. I then had to call tech support. Dealing with the Pilipino tech support back home is bad enough. This time both sides had language barriers! My pronunciation of the French alphabet sucks. It took several attempts to try get my email address down but it still didn’t work. ... eat half of the choucroute (which is saying something). It was ok, nice enough but no where the standard we had in the Alsace or might I say that I have learnt to make myself.

After doing our best and failing, we walked home via the river and just generally enjoyed viewing the evening and all the night sights and activity. Its good that we booked a ‘garden’ room as our hotel is on a lively eat street so we do not get any noise thank goodness!
