Arçais, Poitou-Charentes, France cariverga... our cheese (of course), but had cassis instead of wine for a change. We also had a little friend - a feral cat decided to come and play around my bike.
Stopped a little early of our goal this evening as there was a campground on route. Not having any reference as to what may lie ahead makes things a bit more complicated. Every night is a bit of a gamble of: do we stop now or do we risk it? Some tourist ...
Second day on the road: instead of going straight to Bordeaux - where, according to plans, we were supposed to fetch Ada from the train station - we decide to take it easy and procede at a leasurly pace along the pretty roads of south-western France...we'll meet Ada tomorrow! Following our instinct, we end up at the end of the day in a gorgeous camp site by a small lake: very laid back, almost empty, and stocked up with cheap rose' wine...perfect with ...

Niort, France vgap... has even taken pictures of them (for Lucas). Apparently, they are quite different than the ones here. I can hardly wait to see those photos! Victoria and Grand-maman will be in Niort until tomorrow morning, when they will leave for Lourdes by train. There will be lots of sightseeing and walking once they are there, so that should keep Victoria interested. I will speak to her today around noon, which is her bedtime. Hopefully day 5 will have turned out better than day 4. Jackie"
Niort, France vgap... Bordeaux tomorrow where we will start our driving tour, so internet access might be a bit scratchy but will do our best. In truth, we have been having such a good time with people that writing the blog hasn't become the nightly vigil it was in Central America, but will try to keep you in the loop none the less. Perhaps if this becomes too much of an issue we'll just try to upload our photos for the time being. Love to All
Melle, France damnfunkin... something. So people started to flock to this little town and so the town was made famous and people all over the world still travels there. Whether you believe in this miracle or not, you can feel the energy of people here. They believe and have so much faith, it is awe-inspiring. I went to the church that evening and joined the ...
Lourdes, France sasirachelMore chateaux. Thighs, butt, legs are aching, and i'm getting from tanned to charred with all the cycling. But it's worth it! Imagine cycling through miles and miles of French countryside, passing through vineyards and wheatfields... I can see why Van Gogh was thus inspired.
Tours, France feliciawongDylan: In the morning our car was covered in ice, frost and snow, which, combined together, makes a substance that we scientists call "icyfrostsnow". Then we spent two hours scraping it off with our home-made, scientifically proven icyfrostsnow-scrapers, made of an old map that we kept in the glove-box of the car. Kit: The ...
