Choranche Caves
... a very quick lunch and then headed in for our tour. We were lucky enough to only have the four of us and two others on the tour! We headed in to the cave and arrived at a clear blue underground lake which was quite something. The guide explained that the water seeps in from the ground so sometimes it can be quite murky depending on how much rain they’ve had. Alpe d'Huez
... side. The wind was so strong at this point that I nearly fell off my bike as a gust caught my wheels from the side. I managed to stay on the bike and after a few kilometers the wind died down as we were in the shelter of the mountainsides once again. Croix de Fer
... in to town to see about getting dad’s bike fixed. It had been having some sort of problem on the descent from the Telegraph the day before so he wasn’t keen to ride it until it was looked at. Luckily the guy at the shop knew just what to do and it didn’t involve a new wheel! We then headed back to camp to have a swim in the pool. The sun was nice and warm and we all enjoyed a swim or two once everyone arrived.
