It was overcast and cool this morning but not to be deterred we set off to the Sant Maurici Lake at the head of the valley. Initially the path took us through pastureland and we passed a shepherd complete with his crook, his dog and his flock of sheep.

... the last moment, however things didn't work out for her to come (I didn't know until 20 minutes before) and so I set off to go alone! I schedule 2 blabla cars: 1 from Zaragoza to Lledia and another from Lledia to Viehal.
To start off, I took the bus in the wrong direction, my phone was not working AND luckily the girl waited for me (I was 35 minutes late). She was a sweet girl in vet school in Zaragoza and we had a great talk the whole way. In Lledia I met my ...

With Skippy wearing her new chains we tackled the steep climb. The road was dangerous enough with all the fresh snow, but it became even more stressful with every couple of metres stationary cars and their occupants stood in our way. Eventually we came to the boarder crossing, leaving France ready to explore Andorra. Parked for the night in the capital Andorra del Villa with our hot water bottles close by.

Must tell you about our Christmas Dinner! 4 course buffet in the Hotel for NZ$20 each. Delicious pasta and meatball soup starter, salads, cold meats, seafood for Africa, and some things I couldn't identify (and didn't have a dog to help), then "for your second plat" a choice of Beef or Fish. Yes Merry Christmas to you all, and a very happy New Year. We have done it. A white Christmas. Albeit, we had to travel by bus to Pas De La Casa which is on the French border, and when we got there it was sleeting horizontal and the ski field was closed, it snowed at our place on Christmas Eve. Very cool.
