He also confirmed our own feeling that it has been a terrible year for the French tourism industry - just no tourists this year.     ... I could cook dinner. After about an hour Emma started to feel a little bit of a pain in the stomach, and after a while had decided that there wasn't a need for any dinner for her. Considering that it was still raining I headed to the little restaurant on the site and after looking over the menu I was pretty set on the pizza.     ... wheels in 24 hrs and continued. During the trip they had to part demolish a few bridges and arches, and bought another dozen houses along the way so they could demolish them too in order to fit the thing through. And a yet it still only took 8 days to Paris, where it was, according to Mercier, a hit rivalling the Tour Eiffel...
    Poked our head in the door at Moët and was impressed to see baby photos on the wall of some familiar faces - Deb, Rainey, Andi, ...

    Bought some bubbly in Reims then on to Chalons-en-Champagne. Lovely town with two large churches as usual. The Notre-Dame De L'Epine dated back 1405 the Cathedrale St Etienne dated back 1230.

    ... 235;t & Chandon, the home of Dom Perignon, but we had not made a reservation and arrived just as the last morning English tour had left. On L'Avenue de Champagne, there are about 6 champagne houses, and each closes for about two hours for lunch, unless their sign indicates "non-sto" service, so plan accordingly. I had somehow missed this fact until we were walking the avenue. We did find one place that was open, with a beautiful limestone courtyard. ...
