In the Champagne area, Ramo and I sought the fine product of independent wine makers! Difficult, as the shelves are still littered with the easily recognizable brands. But we finally found young Cyril, a sixth generation wine maker with a recent PHD on the subject …. and ready to describe and sell us his wares. A wonderful afternoon ... we used the WJB method of sourcing!

And now we are on to Scotland on Monday … hope the weather ...

... stick to a couple especially if there are cobblestones lurking around. Further south over some rolling country wine turned to wheat and plenty of good berry crops. For small change you can stop in at road side stalls for punets of fresh stawberries, raspberries and boysenberries. Of course when you are touring you don't think twice about purchasing the first ice cream you see and mixing it with you berries for afternoon ...
