I went on the Montenvers mountain railway this afternoon. I found out this wasn't just a trip on a mountain railway, but a visit to an ice cave as well. In fact the station at the other end of the railway at Montenvers is by a glacier. Or what’s left of it.

Today we ticked something off everyone's bucket list (and if it's not on yours it should be!). We went to the top of the Aiguille Du Midi in Chamonix, France.

It is located 3842m above sea level, and the closest you can get to Mont Blanc without climbing. To get to the top, it is a combination of 2 gondolas and then a 42m elevator ride through rock.
